Founded in 1932 by George Hockenyos, Sentinel has been in business in the Springfield area for over eighty years. In that time Sentinel has developed a tradition of employee continuity; our technicians and office staff average over fifteen years with the company, and over two-hundred years of overall accumulative experience in dealing with all aspects of pest control. Because of this fact Sentinel offers its customers the most experienced service staff available in the area.

Sentinel Pest Control is now owned and operated by the son of its founder George Hockenyos, Jon R. Hockenyos. Jon has over forty years of experience in pest control including two terms as the President of the Illinois Pest Control Association as well as having been chairman of the Safety Committee of the National Pest Control Association. Jon’s expertise and technical knowledge have also been used by the State of Illinois, in the writing of the Pest Control Licensing Exam for termite, residential, and commercial pest control. Jon passes his knowledge and experience on to everyone who works for him through regular service meetings and in-depth training that is constantly being updated with new technology and methods as they become available through the industry.
